One is a long arduous journey defined by frequent bickering, stressful encounters, and demonic bosses. What's the difference between Darkest Dungeon II and game development?

Red Hook Studios had to build a better way of doing Early Access to make Darkest Dungeon II. I also use music from the RPG Music Pack over at Darkest Dungeon II's developers evolved their Early Access process Music from Axe of the Blood God is courtesy of Lena Raine, composer of Celeste. Along the way, she gets some fresh insight into Darkest Dungeon 2, including how Red Hook Studios intends to tackle the story behind its growing universe. In a special interview episode of Axe of the Blood God, Kat sits down with Red Hook Studios developers Chris Bourassa and Tyler Sigman to talk about the making of Darkest Dungeon, the creation of its iconic characters, and its troubled ports to other platforms. Where to find us (Subscribe, rate, and review!) Want to join in the conversation? Leave a comment and we may read it on the show! And don't forget to subscribe to the Newsletter of the Blood God for weekly thoughts on the world of RPGs. Along the way, they sprinkle in some new insight about Darkest Dungeon 2, including how it will tackle the story this time around (it sounds like narrative will take center stage in a much more meaningful way this time around). Tyler Sigman and Chris Bourassa join me to talk about how Darkest Dungeon has improved since launch, the creation of its characters, and its somewhat troubled ports.
